Obituary of Rowan H. Palen

Rowan H. Palen entered into the Kingdom of God on July 29, 2023. He was the eldest son of Jackie and Cole Palen; born April 13, 2003.

Our Rowan was a fierce friend who enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his buddies. He was always active, loved spending time at the Midtown Athletic Club as well as indulging his new found love of golf. An accomplished hockey player, Rowan's best memories on the ice included wide travel with many friends and he never wavered in his love for the Phoenix Coyotes. His knowledge and strong work ethic made him a natural fit for his job at Locker Room Sports.

Rowan graduated Trinity Pawling Prep School before being accepted at Michigan State University. At MSU, he majored in civil engineering and architecture and was really looking forward to his brotherhood at Sigma Pi Fraternity and his new off-campus apartment.

Even as a little kid, he loved British farce which shone through in his wicked sense of humor. Rowan was quick-witted, satiric, ironic, and wonderful to be with. He was always curious and, was, as his mother says "born wise and smart". He was the family 'fixer' and was quick to take problems into his own hands and make repairs. He was particularly gifted in that way and was his mother's rock.

Rowan Palen had big hopes, big dreams and an even bigger heart. He leaves behind countless friends, his girlfriend, Natalia, his Nana and his devastated parents. All who knew Rowan felt his love but none more than his brother, Clark, who tragically preceded him in death. We take comfort knowing they are with each other; united in the warm embrace of the Lord.

A Celebration of Rowan's Life will be held on November 24, 2023 at 5 pm at The Historic German House, 315 Gregory Street, Rochester, NY. A reception to follow.
