Obituary of Clara-Ellen Rorick

Clara-Ellen "Nell" Rorick Nell Rorick of Rush, previously of Cutchogue, NY, died Monday, July 17th, 2023. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles Smith and Joan Regent. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Rorick, son, Charles Rorick, and her siblings, Hal Smith, Terri Abatelli, and Dane Conover. Nell was deeply creative and an avid artist. She created works of fine art spanning oil paintings, watercolors, sketches, ceramics, and graphic design. Her art was inspired by her family, her connections to natural landscapes in Long Island and upstate NY, and a love for animals and the outdoors. She maintained a passion for sailing, photography, and traveling throughout her life, and treasured times spent outside with those close to her. Her free time was often spent helping others: assisting patrons at the Rush library, cooking a meal for anyone who stopped by, or caring for her pets. She will be remembered for being truly selfless, as a full time mother, wife, sibling, and friend. A celebration of life will be held for close family and friends.
