Obituary of Raymond C. Milne Jr.

Raymond Cleatus Milne Jr. Raymond C "Ray" Milne, Age 95, born January 19, 1928, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts passed away quietly in his home in Honeoye Falls, New York on September 16, 2023. Ray was the son of the late Raymond C. Milne Sr. and Dorothy Latimer Milne. He was predeceased by his wife and love of his life Joyce Jeannine DeBoer Milne. Ray is survived by his two daughters, Deborah J. Milne-O'Brien (Edward), Rebecca A. Milne Adkins (Dale) and two sons, Raymond C. Milne III (Connie) and Richard B. Milne (Mary Lou). Ray is also survived by his brother Bruce Milne (Sue) and sister Dorothy Milne Walchenbach. Ray was blessed with nine grandchildren: Shaun O'Brien, Kade O'Brien, Meghan O'Brien Onofrio, Stephanie Adkins-LaChance, Dale Adkins Jr., Raymond C. Milne IV, Cody Milne, Cristian Milne, and Kelly Milne Richardson. Twenty-two great grandchildren and sons and daughters-in-law completed his life circle. Ray lived in Massachusetts until he joined the U.S. Navy in July of 1946 and served in Jacksonville Florida. He was a proud WWII Veteran and remained proud to be a member of Honeoye Falls Legion Post 664 in his later years. After his tour in the Navy, he attended and received his BA Degree from HOPE College in Holland, Michigan. This is also where he met and fell in love with Jeannine DeBoer whom he would later marry. After college, Ray began a very prestigious career in the Banking industry that started in Kalamazoo, Michigan then to Waterbury, Connecticut and finally to Rochester, New York. Ray and his family settled in the lovely Village of Honeoye Falls in 1975 and remained until his death. Ray was an avid fan of most sports; he enjoyed golfing and for many years rooted for his beloved New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. He supported his children and grandchildren by assistant coaching in the HF-L Youth football league and other various programs as they were growing up. Ray also supported his community by serving on various boards and committees for the Town of Mendon, was a Village of Honeoye Falls Trustee, served the HF-L School Board (including a year as President), served on the Monroe County and NYS Boces boards and the NYS Teachers Retirement Board. Ray was active in the HF-Mendon ROTARY for many years and was a medic/driver with the Honeoye Falls Mendon Ambulance and became an EMT at the age of seventy-eight. This was also around the same time that he decided to check off a bucket list item and sky-dived! Ray was an active member of the Honeoye Falls First Presbyterian Church; his faith was always evident whether attending as a parishioner or serving as an Elder or Deacon. A celebration of a life well lived will take place on Friday, October 13th at 10:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church (Honeoye Falls) with a brief coffee hour taking place directly after the service. Buriel will then follow at 12:00 noon at the Honeoye Falls Cemetery. There will be no prior calling hours. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in Ray's memory may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Honeoye Falls for their music program or to the Honeoye Falls American Legion Post 664.
