The first time I met "Bud" I was struck by his amazing smile that lit up his face and his down to earth appearance. He was wearing a baseball cap (probably John Deer) and plad shirt with jeans. You could tell he loved the outdoors and without saying a word, he knew more about farming and anything earthy than most people. He was a very sweet interesting soul and we will miss him dearly.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Pat has shared many stories of her father. He was a fun loving and honorable man. May your memories sustain you.

Many fond memories of Bud Schmidt as I grew up across the field from his home and went to school with his daughters. "Mr Schmidt" to me at the time asked me if I wanted a kitten. So, I ran home to ask if I could have a kitten. So, after parental approval went to tell him I could and he talked me into taking two home instead of one. He packed them in a box with red velvet in it. Also remember them for allowing me to purchase their little piece of heaven in Cape Vincent, which is now my little piece of heaven. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Mary. Bud was a great man, I know his time at the end was hard, but remember all the times that you had together with all your family. Only these thoughts will make the getting through the tough times easier. Our thoughts are with you always.
