Obituary of Russell Clarence Matthews

Russell C. Matthews of Henrietta and formerly of Mendon died Monday, October 10, 2011 at Strong Memorial Hospital at the age of 91. He was born the son of Clarence and Marjorie Quick Matthews on June 26, 1920 in Rochester, NY. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marcella; sons, William Matthews, John (Cindy) Matthews; daughter, Margaret (Philip) Entrekin; grandchildren, Derek, Brian, Adam, Jared Matthews and Colin Entrekin. Russell served as Justice of the Peace and was a former member of the Mendon Town Board for over 20 years. He was a graduate of Cornell University and was an active farmer and a member of the Mendon Community prior to moving to Henrietta in the mid 1970's. Friends may call Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 2-4 pm only at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc. 59 Monroe Street Honeoye Falls, where Services will be held Friday at 10 am. Burial, Quaker Cemetery, Mendon. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Henrietta Fire Department and Ambulance .
