Obituary of Anthony James Angell
Anthony James Angell, better known as Tony, passed suddenly on January 24th, at home, aged 35. A native Englishman, Tony was an avid supporter of the Aston Villa Football Club, an enthusiastic video gamer, and prolific collector of many treasured comic books, figures, and films. Recently, Tony was very proud to have gotten his driver's license, and to have achieved his dream of helping buy his parents a house.
Tony had a unique sarcasm and enjoyed dark comedy, which is why he suggested his obituary read that he was either "hit by a bus that came out of nowhere" or "killed by a Terminator while protecting the future savior of humanity". He was a man of integrity, compassion, unflinching honesty, and deep devotion to those he loved. Tony was especially nurturing to his wife, Katrina, who he cared for lovingly in many times of sickness, and for whom he went above and beyond every day.
In departing this life, Tony has joined all of his grandparents, as well as his cherished pet dogs. He is survived by his loving parents, Anthony and Karen Angell (Bate), brother Adam, and nephew and niece, Thomas & Skye, in the U.K.; in the U.S. he is survived by his devoted wife, Katrina (Simmonds), her parents Karen & Rick, grandmother-in-law Joyce Barley, sisters-in-law Ashley Simmonds (Max) and Angela Hollick (Jeremy), and niece and nephew Emma & Sam.
Tony wished it to be known that his only disappointment was missing out on the zombie apocalypse. If you wish to make a donation in Tony's honor, he supported Extra Life and St. Jude's Children's Hospital. As a writer and lover of fantasy, he believed that he was simply moving on to the next chapter of a new adventure, one where he could be what he chose to be in life: a hero. See you on the other side, Ray.
