I had the pleasure of working with and for Jim. HIs calm quite demeanor was always something set the right tone when dealing with complex issues. And his humor was great at getting people to loosen up. A solid person and will be missed by many, some he probably didn't even know. RIP Jim

I was saddened to hear of Jim’s passing. My deepest sympathies to you and your family. He was such a kind and caring man. Always had a smile on his face. I laughed at Nicki’s memory of Jim “reminding us he was moonlighting as a male model”. So, Jim! He will be missed.

Dear Bev -
I first met your charismatic Jim when he started workiing at B&L - our departments were right next to each other at the top of the main staircase at the Goodman St. facility. It was great having him as a "neighbor" because his cheerfulness and broad smile could lift spirits during a grueling day, Jim was on that fast track to becoming a Corporate officer but he never forgot his beginnings.
When we moved down to the Corporate Headquarters and he had become Comptroller, he oversaw the Audit and Security Departments, many of whom were my lunch buddies. It was not unusual for Jim to see us eating along the 2nd floor rotunda, pull up a chair and join in the conversation. He especially liked to remind us that he was "moonlighting" as a male model - something he couldn't quite get over and neither could we!!
All of our lives were enriched in knowing Jim. How difficult for you to see his fine mind and sense of humor dimming through the years, Bev. May all the wonderful memories of your life with Jim sustain you during this final part of the journey.
Warmest regards,
Nicki Morey

Dear Bev and the Ward Family,
I served with Jim on the Monroe Community College Foundation Board. He was a dedicated Board member and was always the first to support any new initiative. He had a great personality and was a hard person to say no I remember me to. I remember meeting with him to discuss my pledge for the first Capital Campaign. He made giving easy.

To Bev and the Ward family,
All of us who knew Jim Ward admired him for many reasons. Besides being a "regular" guy, Jim inspired confidence in us as he went about his life in a quiet but dedicated way. He truly had a heart of gold and he was quick to expend his emotional and physical energy in working for a cause in which he believed. He was an excellent athlete and was remembered by Al Davis ( Football Hall of Fame Coach and Owner) as a classy halfback at Villanova. We spent many hours together on the golf courses trying to master that frustrating game, but Jim could take it more in stride than most of us his age.
What he did for the students at Monroe Community College is incalculable. God bless him and his family.
Peter A. Spina, President Emeritus Monroe Community College
